Cristiano chairs ONG Sexta-feira, which rescues abandoned dogs and cats from the streets of Belo Horizonte and promotes responsible adoption in partnership with the City Government, through the Adote um Amigo program. Before going to a new home, the animals are assessed, vaccinated, and spayed or neutered.

The story told by the NGO: it all began with a little dog rescued during their student days. With no money for the vet, a group of friends agreed to give up one Friday night out each month and put the money toward the animal's treatment. The Friday became a habit — and a name.

Adote um Amigo fairs

Adoption fairs on Saturdays; on the last Saturday of the month, at the Centro de Controle de Zoonoses (9 a.m.–1 p.m.). The animals leave spayed or neutered and vaccinated.

Donate or volunteer

Report abuse

Abuse is a crime. Report it through the Disque Denúncia (anonymous), to the Polícia Militar in the act, or file a report with the DEMA. Gather photos, videos, and the address.

Emergency rescue — SAMUVet

Free 24-hour rescue for dogs and cats in critical condition (being hit by a vehicle, fractures, hemorrhage). Call or send photos via WhatsApp. Does not handle minor injuries or abuse reports.

Free veterinary care

For low-income families (CadÚnico): clinical and surgical care at the Centro Avançado de Saúde Animal.
